Canada: A call to repentance

Jesus began his ministry telling the people of Israel to repent because the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:17. The kingdom is always near. God is calling the people of Canada to repent for the kingdom of heaven is near.

This nation must repent of unbelief. She must repent of  ignoring God; of godlessness; and of the perversion it has allowed to thrive in her. Families must turn away from vanities and return to God. Time is running out. Don't be deceived by the riches and comfort you have. They are fleeting and will never bring satisfaction to your soul. Jesus is calling Canada. Canada, will you listen to the voice of God, your maker? O how the saviour loves you, Canada!

Don't argue against what you don't know. You know you don't know tomorrow or what really happens after death. Don't argue with your maker. The nation that forgets God will be hauled into hell, the scripture teaches (Psalm 9:17). You can make a choice that can change the course of your trajectory. Where did we get the idea that it ends with death? Doesn't nature or the human system show there are consequences to choices? The people that reject God will face the consequences of rejecting God. It's called the sin of unbelief - willfully rejecting the free gift of salvation provided by God for mankind. See God's provision in John 3:16.

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

See what choices someone can make and the consequences that would follow. John 3:18.

18 “He that believes in him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

Those who believe Jesus will never be condemned whereas those who disbelieve him will be. You say how can God condemn the people he created while he claimed to love them? He doesn't condemn. It is their choice that determines their destiny. It's not the judge that sends convicts to prison as it were. The convict brought that upon himself when he chose to commit the crime. The judge only activates the position of law when the case is proven and there is no lawful defence. I can tell you that for a fact as a criminal lawyer. The key issue is not about God, but the choice we made regarding Jesus, God’s provision for the question of sin. It’s not about good or bad deeds.

Whether you be liberal or conservative, black or white, straight or gay, indigenous or immigrants, born into a Christian home or from another religious background, Jew or gentiles, you need Jesus as the substitutional remedy for your sins. Mankind has sinned without a single exception. Romans 3:23.

“23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”

God is ready to overlook all our sins if we let him. He is that kind and merciful. However, he is just. Sin must be punished and he has accordingly made a substitution regarding the punishment. He puts on Jesus the sins of us all whether past or present or future and Jesus paid the penalty once and for all. Isaiah 53:6. Now, if you acknowledge your sinful state and your need of help; and put your faith in Jesus and what he did on the cross as an atonement for your sins, and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9-10. That is what is referred to as “believe” in John 3:16 above. It is not just an intellectual acknowledgment of his person. It involves trust, submission and confession.

The sin of unbelief (disdain and rejection of God) is the heart of the matter. You say, I don't know for certain if he is the way. Who else said he is the way if not only Jesus? I ask you, will you lose anything if you accept his testimony? You answer, why should I submit to him? You always submit to something per time - your limited self or Jesus the all-knowing. You see, it's your pride that's getting in your way. I tell people: if you get to the end and you see, “oh Jesus is not needed after all” all well and good. But if you die and you see he is needed and you don't have him prior to your death, it will be too late to fix that. We don't even need to wait till then to accept what the scriptures teach on this subject. The scripture is full of accurate prophecies that have come to pass for anyone to still doubt the validity of what it says. Don't let pride get in your way. Don't let friends or culture get in your way, make a choice today to accept Jesus today as your Lord and saviour. I assure you need him. You need his love and grace. Say this prayer if you will:

Lord Jesus, I have heard about you and what you did to pay for my sins. I chose to believe you. I accept and believe that you paid the price for my sins. I accept the forgiveness and salvation you offered. I believe I am a child of God now. Take me further and help me to know you more. Thank you, Jesus.

Friends, if you say that prayer genuinely and mean it, that’s it!. The best decision ever made! Let us know. You need all the assistance you can get to know more about this love walk with God. Get into a bible-based church and enjoy your walk with God.
